The PBS documentary
film "Two Towns of Jasper" will be shown on August 20 at

award-winning film documents the aftermath of the dragging murder of James Byrd,

trials of the three accused murderers. The result offers a troubling, but
important, view of race in America. The event is free
and open to the public.
The "Patron's
Pick-nic", an adult discussion group will be held on August 28th, at 6 p.m.. Bring a book of your liking and something to
eat and they will provide the beverage and treat. As the temperatures soar
throughout this summer... don't forget that the library is a great place to beat
the heat.
The Eliot Community Service Department is sponsoring a Summer

will also be games, contests and music. Admission fee is $5.
