Eliot Festival Day race seeks sponsors ...More

Selectmen have hired a new code enforcement officer. John Stowell will take over as code enforcement officer and building inspector at the end of the month. He replaces Don Lagrange who left to take a position closer to his home upstate. Stowell most recently was a project manager for Tritech Engineering Corp. in Dover, N.H.

Perseverance pays off. Throughout the past several years, Eliot residents have requested that the state install a traffic signal on Route 236 at Bolt Hill Road to reduce the number of accidents at this dangerous intersection. The Annual OCTOBERFEST, sponsored by Friends of the William Fogg Library, is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th 12:00 - 3:00. The many children's activities are always a draw while the adults come for the special chowders and baked goodies. Last year's silent auction and used book sale as well as the children's treasure hunt will return by popular demand. The event will be held under the tent at the library on Old Rd. in Eliot, Maine. Eliot Lions Club will hold its Annual PANCAKE BREAKFAST in conjunction with Eliot Festival Days Saturday, September 30th 6:30 - 9:00 A.M. at 1st Congregational Church, 1361 State Rd., Eliot. Cost is Adults: $4.00 Children Under 12: $2.50 Under 5: Free.
